Is Your Electrical Panel Keeping Up?

Your electrical panel is the heart of your home's electrical system. Every circuit, every outlet, every appliance runs through it. If your panel is outdated — and many Ontario homes still have 60-amp or 100-amp panels from the 1970s or 1980s — it simply cannot handle the demands of modern living.

Think about what your home powers today that it did not 30 years ago: central air conditioning, multiple large appliances, home offices, EV chargers, hot tubs, and more. An overtaxed panel does not just trip breakers — it creates safety risks. Overloaded circuits generate heat, and heat in an electrical panel is how fires start.

At KV Bear Electrical (ECRA/ESA 7014730), we upgrade residential panels to 200-amp service with clean workmanship, proper permitting, and ESA inspection. The result is a safer home with the capacity to run everything you need — now and in the future.

Our Panel Upgrade Process

1

Assessment & Quote

We inspect your current panel, evaluate its age and condition, check for known safety issues, and determine the right upgrade path. You get a detailed written quote.

2

Coordination with Hydro

If your service entrance also needs upgrading, we coordinate directly with your local hydro provider. You do not have to make those calls.

3

Installation

We disconnect the old panel, install a new 200-amp panel, re-terminate all existing circuits, add proper labelling, and ensure everything is neat and organized. Most panel upgrades are completed in one day.

4

ESA Inspection

We pull the ESA permit and schedule the inspection. You receive a Certificate of Inspection confirming the work meets the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.

Panel Upgrade Cost in Ontario

A typical residential panel upgrade from 100 amps to 200 amps costs between $2,500 and $5,000 in Ontario, depending on the complexity of the job, whether the service entrance also needs upgrading, and the condition of the existing wiring. We provide a detailed, line-item quote so you know exactly what is included. The price we quote is the price you pay — no hidden extras.

KV Bear was recommended to us by a friend. We wanted to install a Tesla charger only to find out our electrical panel was known for faulting resulting in an electrical fire. He showed us signs of the panel arcing. The work was clean, professional, and fast! We are so happy we hired a professional.
